Wayne Cant - Principal Lawyer
After school, Wayne commenced a career in the fishing and building industries where he worked as a cray-fisherman and a labourer for many years. In doing so, Wayne has a background and experiences which many of our clients can relate to. Wayne attended both the University of Western Australia and Curtin University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1994. Subsequently, Wayne initiated a career in media, travelling the world and reporting on matters relevant to the oil and gas industry. Wayne then completed his Juris Doctor at Murdoch University and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia as a solicitor and barrister in 2016. Wayne has since gained considerable experience in Family Law and estate matters in which he has successfully represented clients in settlement negotiations and court proceedings. In his spare time Wayne likes to join his wife watching his son and daughter play soccer, spend time with his white Swiss shepherds and train with the Jan De Jong ju jiutsu school.
Raymond Ly - Solicitor
Raymond graduated from the University of Notre Dame at the end of 2021 with a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce, majoring in finance and management. Raymond has been with us since he commenced his Practical Legal Training with the College of Law. Raymond formally joined Cicero Legal in June 2022 as a law clerk and then as a restricted practitioner later that year. Prior to joining Cicero Legal Raymond worked at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau when he was still at university and has since accumulated knowledge in areas of law such as family, commercial and employment.
Angie Powell - Practice Manager
Angie joined Cicero Legal as Wayne’s Executive Assistant in 2021 and manages the practice, employees, marketing, and all administrative functions of the firm. With a Bachelor of Design from Curtin University and a Bachelor of Laws from Murdoch University, her experience is well suited to our firm. Angie is resilient, solution-focused with a great depth and experience in organisation, planning and time management in coordinating many projects in the marketing and legal industries.
Jennifer Nguyen
Jennifer joined Cicero Legal as a Receptionist and Legal Assistant while completing her Double Degree in Law and Psychology at Murdoch University. With a passion for helping people and a strong academic background, she quickly excelled in her position by providing outstanding service to all clients by going above and beyond what was normally expected. Her extensive experience working at other law firms, and fluency in Vietnamese enables her to provide high level administrative clerical support that caters to a range of clients from different backgrounds, particularly Vietnamese clients who require assistance with English. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys the outdoors, volunteering at her local temple, and the occasional fine culinary dining experience.
